David Manley Sr. - Pastor
smoke1045@charter.net

Glad to have you browse our web site. Just like to let you know a few things about the Pastor.

My Wife and I have been members of this Church since about 1984. We were both involved with youth. Myself RA Director and she was GA Director. I was also a speaker against Satanism and had done back masking on hard rock music. I was Speaking at different Churches thru out the State. We left the church awhile, but God had brought us back in 2002 and since, we have been dedicated to filling the shoes God would have us to fill.

I have been the Pastor for the last 2 1/2 years. I have been married 30 years to the woman of my life Theresa. We have 2  children and 5 grandchildren. Amen. We live in the home town of our Church and welcome everyone to come pay us a visit and share the Love of God that He has for us all.

We like to think of ourselves as down home people and the Love of the Church will comfort everyone who comes in and visit with us.

Jonnie Pruitt - Deacon

Gene Schubert - Deacon, Outreach

Larry Green - Deacon, Brotherhood Director

Ed Piere - Sunday School Director
edbapi@charter.net

I became a member of First Baptist of New Baden in 1986 through baptism.  I have spent 20 years driving a tractor-trailer traveling the continental United States. I was a member of Trucker Buddy Association the last nine years of my driving. Being a part of this organization I was a pen-pal with two grade school classes at Scott Air Force Base & one class in Highland, IL. Not only being a pen pal with the kids but  my wife Barb and I also made visits to the classes through out the years. I married  Barbara in 1988 being a second marriage for both of us. We have no childern of our own but between the two of us we have 8 childern, 18 grand childern and 13 great -grand childern.
I feel that Sunday school is the most important part of fellowshipping in the church.  This is where the instructions are found. A good sound Bible study with good teachering will lead a church towards a solid foundation that bring growth to the church.  Going to the Worship Service gives us the directions to take and come closer to our Lord.

Kara Manley - Music and Choir Director,
I would like to start out by saying that it is only through the Lord that am able to do my job as the music director.  He lead me to this path through a very indirect route. (I will explain)  I minored in music in college and other than singing in various Choirs, I really did not do much with music. That is until I came to New Baden!

I moved to New Baden a little over a year ago and quickly fell in love with the small town atmosphere.  I realized though that something was missing in my life.  The answer was a church family.  I decided to attend the church that I was married in (First Baptist Church of New Baden!) and I found my family! But I did not attend regularly.  I found myself very lonely with my husband over the road all the time(He is a truck driver). It was New Years Eve and I had no plans, I remembered hearing about the New Years Fellowship that the Church was having and decided to go. I had a blast!!! At the end of the night we gatered in prayer and I prayed for the Lord to give me the stenghth and courage to join the church.  And a few weeks later I was Baptised.

The one thing I learned was that when God has a plan you just have to role with it!  It was about 2 days later when Pastor Dave aproached me and so very subtly "asked" me to be the Music Director!  He told me to pray about it and I did.  I immediatly recieved my answer.  This was Gods calling for me.  I have been, happy, sad, stressed but mostly fulfilled with this job!

Well to wrap this up I guess I better mention my family! As I said I am married to a trucker, Gary Manley.  We have 3 children; Bailey 8,  Cole 2 1/2,  Sophia 1.  God bless you all and remember, when God calls you, roll with it!
