I became a member of First Baptist of New Baden in 1986 through baptism. I have spent 23 years driving a tractor-trailer traveling the continental United States. I was a member of Trucker Buddy Association the last nine years of my driving. Being a part of this organization I was a pen-pal with two grade school classes at Scott Air Force Base & one class in Highland, IL. Not only being a pen pal with the kids but my wife Barb and I also made visits to the classes through out the years. I married Barbara in 1988 being a second marriage for both of us. We have no children of our own but between the two of us we have 8 children, 20 grand children and 15 great -grand children. In 2003 I gave up driving over the road got a job driving local and now in charge of the safety department. This puts me in a very visible position to witness Jesus Christ love.
I feel that Sunday school is the most important part of fellowshipping in the church. This is where the instructions are found. A good sound Bible study with good teaching will lead a church to-wards a solid foundation that bring growth to the church. Going to the Worship Service gives us the directions to take and come closer to our Lord.
In spring of 2008 became a member of Gideon's International, and at present serve in St. Clair South Camp. Since being a member of First Baptist of New Baden I have been lead by God to serve in many positions if the church from Sunday School teacher to Sunday School Director just to mention a couple.
